Adam E. Bennett, MD, PhD, FAAD, Board Certified

Dr. Bennett completed medical school at the University of Florida and Shands Hospital, and dermatology residency at the University of South Florida under the auspices of the Morsani College of Medicine, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Tampa General Hospital, and Florida Hospital, where he gained acclaim as a skilled clinician, educator, and servant-leader, working to develop the clinical curriculum at these sites for dematologists-in-training in as Chief Resident in Dermatology, and having also been twice recognized as annual Resident Teacher of the Year. He is recognized for a combination of thorough dedication to excellence yet with the context of a compassionate and individualized care relationship, having been one of only a handful of physicians to be simultaneously elected to both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medal Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

 

Dr. Bennett is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Churchill Scholar and holds a joint research doctorate from the University of Cambridge and the National Institutes of Health, having authored 10 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact biomedical journals, 6 oral presentations, 6 poster presentations, and 3 presentation awards at major conferences such as the American Academy of Dermatology and the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and has contributed to cutting-edge literature on complex dermatologic-rheumatologic conditions. His focus includes skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, dermatologic surgery, acne, rosacea, rashes—including eczema, psoriasis, and allergic contact rashes—complex medical dermatology, blistering diseases, infectious diseases, pediatric dermatology, and clinical research, encompassing the spectrum from common conditions to life-threatening skin disease. He believes in the concept of delivering quality, high-value care in a patient-centered medical home, having completed training from the prestigious Institute for Healthcare Improvement. He is proficient in medical Spanish.
