Mohs Surgery
Mohs micrographic surgery is a specialized, highly effective technique for removing skin cancer. The procedure was developed by Dr. Frederic Mohs in the 1930s at the University of Wisconsin. Today, Mohs surgery is practiced throughout the world. This surgical procedure is different from other skin cancer treatments in that it allows for the immediate and complete microscopic examination and removal of cancerous tissue, allowing all the "roots" and extensions of the cancer to be eliminated. Of all types of skin cancer treatment, Mohs surgery is reported to have the highest cure rate.
At Bay Dermatology, we provide Mohs Surgery at six of our eight locations. To learn more about Mohs Surgery, please contact us at 866-967-3376.
